Absolutely Not.
It's all about comfort levels. While optical media and removable media costs keeps coming down everyday, the cost of owning a floppy disk in todays date seems a costlier business.
No wonder, none of the laptops being shipped recently carry any floppy drive. The answer is loud and clear. The whole industry itself have indirectly stopped promoting the concept of floppy or floppy drives.

I'm not a professional in this, but for my personal use, I find that I can more easily save short bits of data and update them repeatedly on the same floppy, instead of using more CDs or using up an RWCD to its limit. In that way, it's more easy and cheap. Also, I am a writer and live in terror that my work will be destroyed without hard- or computer copy to reconstruct it from, so I like to make a few backpups on floppy and keep them in strategic areas that will prevent all of them from being lost in case of fire, flood, theft, curious children, etc.

Not all computers have a USB port, especially the old ones.
DVD drive cannot be accessed until the computer is on and then the tray opens.
Thus floppy is one media which can be used to impose data files on to a dead machine.
The other reason is that some boards are wired to look at the disk drives for system files rather than a BUS PORT.

while DVD can store data nearly 3500 times more data and that to in just some money more

I don't think they are of much use. That's why they are not seen in laptops. I don't have floppy drive in my PC and never felt any use of it.
