Naaa, Operating systems usually stick around even after they've been updated a view times. Even though Microsoft is really trying to sell Vista most PC users will still be using XP for a while. Usually the only people that go out and upgrade right away are people with money to burn, or nerds like myself lol.

XP won't become obsolete for several years. It will take that long for the major bugs in Vista to get ironed out. Remember, Microsoft has a well established reputation for putting ou very BUGGY software.

Nooooo.
Think about how many people aren't gonna upgrade. Microsoft needed Vista bad but they made too many versions and didn't spend enough time testing. Although they are getting better at testing compared to 2000, ME, 98.
Plus alot of vendors haven't made drivers for their software in Vista.

Give it a 3 year time-frame, heck, windows 98 survived until 2004, which is quite long.

Depends on MS business model. Going by their history eventually it will as they phased out 95, NT & 2k. I guess like any business they are just waiting to clear the existing inventry before pulling the plug.
