I have this strange message in my computer, which eventually might burn my iPod. "Power surge on hub port. A USB device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message" When I click on it, it says" Ahub device has malfunctioned and exceeded the power limits of its hub port. You should disconnect the device" I went ahead and disconnect, but the message eventually came back. Any suggestions?

Hi there, I feel like I've been a mac/windows compatibility victim for the 1000th time.

I borrowed my friends western digital wd1200 external hard drive. The first time I plugged the drive in, the icon showed up on the desktop however the drive was read only. What I wanted to do is I wanted to move files in to the drive.

The second time I plugged it in, there was nothing on the desktop. My computer is now not being able to detect to drive.

So how would I make the drive read & write? My friend runs xp on his computer.

Please help me out, I'll really appreciate it.

i need to get a new ram because 256 mb of ram is no good for games nowadays,so currently i have one more memeory slot left and the current one i have is called DDR PC2100. my maximum memory i can add is 2048MB so i think im gonna get 512 mb, (also a sticker on my ram stick said DDR266) so do you guys think this ram will do?

previously also I asked this Question here and some body suggest me this solution:-
type your CD drive then : then press Enter
type CD I386 then Enter
Type WinNt or WinNT32 then Enter
but after pressing enter it shows bad command.Now please hep me,how could i open this?

I had a 512 mb stick of RAM installed in my computer and today I installed another one. However, when i check my system RAM wih windows, it says I only have 896 mb, why is this? Can i fix this?

Alrighty..So I have a Dell Dimension 2400. Already has a pc2700/184 PIN/128MB of RAM already in it. 1 of 2 Memory slots are avaliable. 2GBs max.

I play computer games such as Counter Strike and Guild Wars. I've given up trying to play Guild Wars because it uses a lot of memory. I continue to play counter strike because it's alright. No problems at all, the only problem is. It takes atleast a minute to open up the game. But joining or playing in game is alright.

I'm looking for a good "bang for the buck" I've been looking around in stores and it is incredible expensive.

If I want my PC to handle these types of games, how much memory should I be purchasing?

512MB or 1GB?

Im building a system primarily for 3d gaming, but also for school work and such. I cant decide what kind of parts to put in! I dont kno if i should put in an Intel core 2 duo extreme, or an Amd Athlon fx. I was thinking about getting a nividia sli motherboard and 2 GeForce 7950 gx2 dual gpu, or get a high end ati or radeon card. Please help!

I'm wondering if anyone has an idea of when the Intel Core 2 Duo and the extreme one are coming out. Also, I hear people saying that Amd is gonna beat Intel soon after but what do you guys think? Should I get the Intel when it comes out or wait for AMD?

Internet, more processes at once, faster loading, faster downloads (if possible), ect. I have already made sure my computer is completely clean of all unneeded files, temp files, ect.

I am thinking of maybe getting a new harddrive or RAM card. My current Harddrive holds around 70 gigs and my RAM is 128 I believe. So, should I get a bigger harddrive, RAM card, even graphics card, ect.? I really don't know what is best, because I am new to figuring out all this computer tech. Thanks!

To be more specific i bought a new case and motherboard, which i will use to start building my computer. I know the motherboard can fit in here, because i've seen it before. The problem is that, the little cutout in the back of the computer, where you install the face plate for the connectors i put in, and i can't get it to fit perfectly with my motherboard.

On the other hand, what screws do i use to install the motherboard? The case came with a little bag of about 40 screws, ranging from tiny ones, to gold ones, which have about 12 of those, though the motherboard only requires 9.

Can anybody help me out?

I use a P4 2.4 A (478 pin), murcury 865 pearl motherboard and DDR 400 ( 512 MB ram ). And a 256 MB AGP ( geforce 6200 - NV44A)

I found out after buying that the crapy 6200 , it runs at 64 bit. So I decided to overclock it. I overclocked only 50 mhz on both memory and core( used Nvtweak) . Later after 3 or 4 hours I put things to default. NOW, the windows runs ok. But if i run a game, the screen frezees and restarts. Tried the AGP on an original Intel 865 GBF board. the AGP is fine. My motherboard can't handle 3D apps anymore. Is it possible that i corrupted the intel chipset by overclocking?? is it possible to flash that chip ( not the bios , its ok)

I need the name of a new board ( 865 chipset intel) and would like to know if ATi9550 or 9600 runs at 128 bit.
