How could I launch operating system through DOS,I mean through a non bootable CD(dos version is 7.3)?

previously also I asked this Question here and some body suggest me this solution:-
type your CD drive then : then press Enter
type CD I386 then Enter
Type WinNt or WinNT32 then Enter
but after pressing enter it shows bad command.Now please hep me,how could i open this?

What Operating System? The one that the older answer is suggesting, I'm sure, is suggesting on launching a Windows XP OS CD, and AFAIK All Windows XP Cd are bootable. Please say what OS you're trying to launch.

And what are you going to launch the CD for?
For installing the OS?
For Running Live CD version of the OS (Live CD OS is usually bootable though)?

EDIT: It seems that, by reading your previous post, you're trying to boot XP CD. Well, it should have booted if you insert the CD to a CD drive, or you might need to modify BIOS Setting. Modify BIOS setting by:
1. Pressing delete button repeatedly just after you turned on the computer.
2. The BIOS Configuration screen would appear there, search for entry for Boot order, make your CD Drive booted first by the BIOS.
3. Save the setting, and restart the computer.

I never heard of an XP CD that is not bootable. If, perhaps, for some weird reason, your XP CD is really unbootable, perhaps what you could do is by browsing the directory through DOS, use the command "cd" (without quotes) like "cd directory/directory2" then run the executable by typing the executable name (see the executable name with the command "dir" [without quotes]).

Most possible scenarios:

1. browse to the CD drive (change D according to your CD drive letter)
C:\> cd /d D: [enter]

2. Browse to the executable directory (or use WinNT32)
D:\> cd I386/WinNT [enter]

3. Lookup the executable name:
D:\> dir [enter]

4. Run the executable
D:\> setup [enter]
