the GPU is like the CPU of the graphics card
the graphics card contains the board and the GPU RAM
also known as GDDR/GDDR2/GDDR3
most high end graphics cards use GDDR3 though.

A GPU is a graphics processing unit which can be located as an integrated graphic chip on a motherboard or on a dedicated "graphics card".

Dedicated graphics card are preferred because they usually come with their own memory chips and therefore do not need to use system memory to do their job.

The GPU is your graphics processing unit it can be built in on your motherboard or you can use a graphics card or video card whatever you want to call it. On your card the GPU is built into that card, So your GPU is your graphics.

The graphics card is the whole, it has its own independent memory and processor. THe processor is the GPU. Graphics processing unit.

easy to answer... a graphic card is the board that is connected on your motherboard... the gpu... is your graphic processing unit... which is just like the cpu.... except its different... the gpu is on the graphic card... just like a cpu is on a motherboard... the gpu releases the stress of your cpu so the gpu can take in more matter.... and lower the stree of your cpu so your cpu can process faster...
