Low virtual memory indicates that the hard disk space reserved for use when you do not have enough system ram is being exhausted. You can adjust the portion of the hard disk set aside for this use as a temp fix, but the real solution is to add more ram so the virtual memory is not needed. Hard disks are much slower than system RAM and it can really adversely impact media players when stuff is spooled off to disk.

I haven't seen that message in Real Player, but I usually have to increase the size of the page file in the Advanced Section of Performance and Maintenance in the Control Panel. I usually increase the size by 200 or 300. Read up on the paging file to get the correct size for your system. That is your virtual memory.

Go to Control Panel. Select Performance and Maintenance. Click Advanced. Virtual memory settings are there. I suspect you need more memory.

Virtual Memory is a space on your hard drive that emulates physical memory (RAM). If you are running low on hard drive space, you will get the virtual memory is low error...free up some room (I suggest around 3-5GB at least).

Two good descriptions, of what virtual memory is, in previous answers. I would recommend adding more RAM memory. It's cheap, easy to do, and effective.

You can enter the make and model of your PC, and it will tell you exactly what type of ram your PC takes. It can also scan your PC for you and tell you how much RAM you have, and how much you can add.
