I have a NVIDIA 8600GT video card and am wondering if adding another 8600GT card(making dual cards) will help my performance for gaming or am i better off spending more and getting the 8800GT card?

I am going to buy this Gateway Desktop tonight http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=pcmprd81600050012&skuId=999981700050012&type=product&count=0
and it says
Video Memory: 256MB (dedicated)
My first question is how important is video memory and will it even be a problem if I'm playing games such as WoW, Call of Duty 4, etc?
And what does dedicated actually mean, does it mean i cannot remove it at all or upgrade it or what?

I'm debating whether to get a 14 or 15 inch wxga hd widescreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800. My questions is will the quality of videos and/or pics look better on the 14 vs the 15 or does it not really make that big of a difference (all other specs being the same)? Thanks

my new gpu just came down. as of now this is the spec of my box. :D

pentium 4 dual core 3Ghz
Ge force 8500GT 256mb
1GB DDR2 ram

I think its a pretty gud spec. been abit outdated with the latest games. i played nfsu2 just now with everything max and its running at 35-50 fps. is that good or bad. i heard abt crysis. will my box be enough for that

i recently tried to install a software in my pc. it shows a warning message
windows- virtual memory minimum too low
your sys is low on virtual memory , windows is increasing the size of the virtual memory paging file . during this process memory requests for some applns may be denied........

how to fix this problem ?also i cant able to install tht software dute to this .even installation process doesnt begin due to this .
my pc configurations are : 256 mb ram , win xp etc.,

suggest solutions to do with this configurations....thanks in advance!!

My PC is so slow. It started today. I have cable and it took me 1/2 hour just to type this. I deleted all the cookies and Web sites. I defragmented and cleaned the disk. What else can I do to speed up this evil machine? I know I have a lot programs installed for my IPOD and such but it was working fine few days ago. Can someone please help? I'm getting bald just trying to figure this out. Oh and PS I have window XP..(.I know.).!!

I've had this laptop for about a year previously I owned a toshiba unit which I took out the hard drive that smelled oddly the same.

I have a 17'' macbook pro right now and it smells like a sweaty ***. I bought it brand new so no previous owners it does get alot of use I'd say opproximatly 8-10hrs a day 6 days a week. I can deal with the smell i guess doesn't get bad unless you sniff the keyboard but want to make sure its not a technical issue that could cause malfuction in the future. I will be going on a 2 month trip and using it to back up photos and keep in touch with the world if i can find internet access.

any help would be good

I am planning to get a macbook pro 15". Will the macbook pro be able to play all the high end graphics intensive games around without giving any system requirements error on dual boot with windows vista basic? have u tried out crysis,grand theft auto etc.

I am getting an MBR error on my computer as soon as I boot up. I am getting advice that this indicats an error with a partition on my computer.

1. How fixable is this?
2. What is the chance that my data is able to be recovered?
3. If it can't be recovered can I still get the computer in working order again?
4. I'm fed up with PCs, my boyfriend lost his data to a partition error 6 mos ago. Should I switch to Mac, how often do Macs really "crash" or am I just having a string of bad luck!?

the speakers are located on the monitor. Audio files play, but there's no sound coming out. The problem is not with the mute button, or low volume. The wires work fine too (tried on another computer). The problem isn't with the actual inbuilt speakers, because they play music from my laptop, when connected to it. I've plugged in earphones to both the screen "headphones" section and the actual soundcard, but nothing happens, just get static from the screen and nothing from the soundcard.

i haven't yet opened up my computer to check the actual soundcard. is this the next step? loose connection? or is there something i've missed?
