My PC is so slow. It started today. I have cable and it took me 1/2 hour just to type this. I deleted all the cookies and Web sites. I defragmented and cleaned the disk. What else can I do to speed up this evil machine? I know I have a lot programs installed for my IPOD and such but it was working fine few days ago. Can someone please help? I'm getting bald just trying to figure this out. Oh and PS I have window XP..(.I know.).!!

Run a virus and software scan.
Install and run these two programs:

1)Right what you need to do is go www.google.com and type AVG free in and download it. also download Spybot search and destroy. You could also try deleting some files, Music, photos etc or just moving them to disc. I recommend a External hard-drive to store photos and everything on, as this leaves the main hard-drive (C) open. Sometimes when the hard-drive is nearly full the system slows down and the performance is poor.
2) If non of this works then you could try opening up your computer and seeing if anything is loose? or broken. Sometimes things burn out or occasionaly come loose. However DO NOT force anything as this may cause damage.

Avira Antivirus
Lavasoft Ad-Aware
AVG AntiSpyware
Mozilla Firefox
They're all free, and will find any nasty things that could be lurking in your computer and slowing it down.

well... i would have to say do a system restore, and take your computer back a couple of days to when it was working or even better just wipe your whole computer =D
