hi.. well i just got a new laptop, and it got a Wi-Fi ; so i was wondering if there is some kinda machine or hardware that i can plug my internet cable into and it'll give me wireless internet feeds to the Wi-Fi in my laptop so that i will be able to use my cable connexion " wirelessly" anywhere i want in my house and of course with privacy ( access protected by a password or some kinda security feature).... if there is such a machine then please give me some links so that i can see em and compare prices... any other ideas will be very helpful. thanks anyways ...

I have on old Mac powerbook G3 running on OS9.
It was fine up untill now.... But I disconected it correctly to move some stuff.... when I re conected again the screen has gone pale green with no contrast..... all the programs seem to work. I've tried rebooting with no sucess..... any body have any idea what the problem might be.

I am looking for 2 driver softwares:
1) Printer driver for HP Deskjet 840C driver for Windows 98.
2) Scanner driver for Canon scanner - Canoscan FB 630 U (For Windows-XP)

I have checked the websites of both HP & Canon but HP has removed the driver from its site for win-98 and Canon driver isn't working.

Is there anyone who has got a driver disk for that and if you can please send it to me thru email - bhatnagarashish@yahoo.com

If I'm on xp for operating system is it ok for me to install an earlier version of my sound card like say windows 2000 or something like that earlier version of software not never updated one on to my operating stystem XP does not like it I've been to lots of forum sites and still nothing. Got lots of usefull info if any needs to ask. I hate this no sound thing XP does not like my sound card.

I need some more power in my memory. At last I have found out the specifications of my motherboard but am not sure which of these are essential to ensure compatibility.
It's PC2700 (PC2100 will also go) and 184 pin. Apart from these what else is important.

My son has a rel problem with his Dell laptop. A friend told him that the laptop runs on battery whether or not it is plugged in to AC and this depletes the battery life. It is also a problem in that you think you are fully charged, but since the computer has actually been draining the battery, you might unplug when you are near the bottom of the batttery cycle and find your battery is flat in just a few minutes. This happens to my son all the time, so I believe the description. This has happened since the laptop was new, also. He has had it for a year and a half and he's on his second factory battery. Is this normal?

What brand is the best for battery life and performance?

Or can it be just anything with the same Qualities? I need a 256MB stick for a Gateway Performance 1500...and apparently it uses "System specific memory". But it has the same features and specs as a Kingston Value RAM I found. Would that work?

Does too many extention cords pose a problem? Like I have two computer workstations next to each other, and each have their own extention cord, with the multiplugs, and most of them are usually all filled, will this cause an electric problem or some sort, or even an explosion? or am i just being very paranoid. lol

Ok. So I went and got a new ink cartridge from Walmart (black) and took my color to refill at Walgreens. I have no color cartridge installed, is this why it won't print? I have a Hewlett Packard DeskJet 842C. I am computer stupid, so your help is appreciated. My son has two papers to print and it is after midnight. Obviously, they are due in the morning. Help! Please tell me there is a way to print without a color cartridge. I only need to print in black, a couple of Word documents. Thanks!!

My desktop has a Sempron 3100+ processor on a socket 754. Can I change it to an Athlon series processor that uses socket 754. If so what exactly would I have to do or buy. Any help would be appreciated because I really dont want to have to buy a new computer just for a video game.
