I am looking for 2 driver softwares:
1) Printer driver for HP Deskjet 840C driver for Windows 98.
2) Scanner driver for Canon scanner - Canoscan FB 630 U (For Windows-XP)

I have checked the websites of both HP & Canon but HP has removed the driver from its site for win-98 and Canon driver isn't working.

Is there anyone who has got a driver disk for that and if you can please send it to me thru email - bhatnagarashish@yahoo.com

Hi,
Damn hard to find, this claims to be a Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP driver for the HP840C:
http://www.nodevice.com/driver/DeskJet_840c/get29501.html

If that doesn't work I also found Win 98 drivers for a HP825c printer, i know its not yours, but the XP drivers are the same:
HP825C
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=62064&lang=en
HP840C
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=59868&lang=en
See, both revision 4.3, released December 2001, the Win 98 HP825C drivers can be found here:
http://www.nodevice.com/driver/DeskJet_825c/get29516.html
They may not work, i know its a long shot but some times the drivers cover a family, not just a single model, so lets hope.

As for the scanner I found this:

Hope they work, and good luck!

If your HP is old enough to have ever had a 98 driver, you may already have it and don't know it. Run the gamut to set up a new hardware item, go to manual select for printers, select HP from the menu and see if that model is listed. If it is, you have the driver in a cab file. You may have to get it from the 98 disk though, but if you don't have one there are many around and most any computer geek can get you a copy.

Can't help much on the Canon except to send you back to them. You may have down-loaded the wrong driver or your down-load may be contaminated. Try to re do it from them.
Contact their service support if all else fails.

sometimes you have to uninstall your printer and disconect it before you install your new printer driver then plug it in again to allow it to be found again
