Yep, as stated, you need a wireless router. I also use linksys, have for years, and am quite happy.

Your modem will plug into the router (there's a marked connection for it). There are plugs for regular ethernet connections and you can connect wirelessly. And as stated, make sure you enable WEP or WPA security. Instruction will be in the box.

Check out:

for the how-to of home networking.

Good luck!

It sounds like you are wanting to share your internet
connection wirelessly. In order to do this, you will need to find something called a wireless router. There are many companies out there that make wireless routers, such as:
Linksys (http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1149562300349&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=0034926718B08),
Belkin (http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=136493), and several others. To answer your question on wireless securtiy, you can use the encryption feature that comes with your wireless router. All you to do is follow the instructions for the router, and it will tell you how to setup security on your wireless network.

Hi. I just installed a wireless router/hub from Linksys and it works well for internet access. You will want to use WPA or WEP to encrypt the data (not hard at all to do). This is the one I bought http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833124010&Tpk=wrt54g but do research if you like.
