I have a couple of memory sticks that were found but they are originally from a Dell system, will they work in a Gateway system?
They are made by Samsung so I would assume they would.

Which printers are better in general---HP or Canon? I am leaning toward the HP 6940 (or 6980-wireless) OR the HP 7100 series with the separate color tanks (the 02 cartridges).

If I go with Canon, I will get the Pixma 6000 series.

Any suggestions? Which company is more reliable, has better and more cost efficient inks?

If you do then great because I want to connect my computer to connect to my laptop to print wirelessly. I don't know what type of information I need to provide, but I know that somehow I can. I've done it before but we had to switch computers because the other one caught a virus. Well, it's a DELL AIO, and I have it connected to my desktop with wires. I want it to connect to my laptop without wires. I don't know what I need to do. I selected the information on my driver disc to connect to our wireless network, and I added it with my IP address.

Okay, we all know the "disappearing gig" act of any large hard drive and are accostomed to it. I know it has something to do with formatting but have never really understood it.

Why does a 400 gig external harddrive lose 30 gigs when installed on a system? Why does a 30 gig iPod only have 22 gigs of storage? Is it even POSSIBLE that the OS to run a harddrive is 30 gigs?? I find that incredibly hard to believe. So where do all those gigs go? Thanks!

When I bought my laptop, it came partitioned into 2 FAT32 partiorions and I recently used Partition magic to convert both of them to NTFS. After I converting it, I found out that my cluster size for partition C: went from 4kb to 512b. However, there is an option in partition magic to resize the cluster to 4kb. I'm about to go ahead and do this, but before I do...is there any steps I should take or am I good to go? Any help is highly appreciated. thanks.

HP only do a replacement service which is very expensive and my printer has a part that has fallen off but is not broken. If I can get a manual or schematic I should be able to fix it. The printer is out of warranty but £124 seems a lot to have someone who knows put the part back in place as it might be very simple

I am a graphic designer and after a few years of accumulating images, now need a secure way to archive my catalogue of work. Til now I have burned multiple copies of my work on many DVDs but searching and using past images is a hassle. Would you recommend using a (or multiple) external hard drives or just keep on burning? Is either one less secure? I know that, depending on the chemicals used, DVDs will lose the information burned on them in 10 to 25 years. Thanks!

I ordered an 80 GB laptop a few months ago. Happened to look at the control panel today, and saw that it said the total disk space was 51 GB (25 used, 26 free). My brother says that the 30 GB was taken up by the pre-installed XP, but that seems like a lot to me. I thought maybe they gave me a 60 GB instead...did they make an error or is that much space taken up?
