When I bought my laptop, it came partitioned into 2 FAT32 partiorions and I recently used Partition magic to convert both of them to NTFS. After I converting it, I found out that my cluster size for partition C: went from 4kb to 512b. However, there is an option in partition magic to resize the cluster to 4kb. I'm about to go ahead and do this, but before I do...is there any steps I should take or am I good to go? Any help is highly appreciated. thanks.

You might want to rethink your position. If you save a file smaller than 4096 (4K) bytes -- and there are MANY in Windows, then each file will use the full 4K in bytes, even though it might only be a 197 byte file. By reducing cluster size to 512K you will end up wasting less disk space. If you use disk space like I do (I'm currently pushing the limits of my 750Gb drives), then you might want to reconsider.

But Partition Magic can usually convert without problems. However, I did once have a problem that generated a new maxim for me: "Those who don't believe in backups WILL!"

I think you should be ok. I've heard Partition Magic is a good program, so it should take care of you.

I haven't used Partition Magic much, but it tends to work well. I don't anticipate there would be a problem.

You're good to go. A smaller cluster size will save you some space.
