The highest 7200rpm notebook drive is 100gb, the highest 5400rpm is 160gb, and a 4200rpm 200gb drive is the biggest for a notebook.

Sure just use an external firewire or usb drive of any speed and capacity that you want. Store all your stuff and share with any number of desktops or laptops.
