Does anyone use this soundcard remote control unit? I have one but it does not seem to work as i have no control of the pc volumes. It shows no visible signs of having any effect or being recognised by the pc. Is there anyway that i can at least tell if the unit is working/communicating with the pc. I will try a new battery today just in case but if anyone can give me some info on setting this unit up it maybe help get it working.Thanks.

I have had this printer for a year and it is brand new. I have yet to get it to work as it is either not communicating with the computer or something. I have the proper drivers, but I can't figure out whether to use LPT, COM or USB. There is also a virtual USB somewhere. PLEASE HELP! I am going crazy trying to figure this out. The machine (printer) does'nt respond when booting and has a stop/reset button that's rather large and then again an On off button. I've tried unplugging the USB cord as well as the power cord in many different ways...still nothing. When it does respond to the computer, I always get the same message that printer cannot communicate with computer, even when "use printer online" is selected. What's up with this. I'll never buy another Canon printer again althought they make excellent cameras!

Is it somehow possible to disable the automatic installation of WinXP drivers when I plug in new hardware into the PC, because when I plug in the hardware, WinXP installs wrong drivers for it, and I can't install the real drivers, that I have.

I got a free computer from work. the problem is that it has a sign in window when you start in up and I dont have a user name or pasword. How can I reformat the hard drive to run something like a home edition if I cant log on to the computer to begin with? If possible I would also like to keep the Microsoft Office programs but that is not as nessisary as just being able to even use the damn thing. thank you in advance.

just popped out a couple of keys by accident on my dell laptop. having a heck of a time getting them back in. looks like a hinge on one of the keys is broken. the other key looks fine, it's just not popping back in. do i need to replace the whole keyboard or can i just purchase a couple of new keys?

Ok, my computer is about 5 years old, and it's kinda slow, and I think it's time to upgrade it. I don't want the newest or best out, but something that will be reasonably fast and most importantly, CHEAP. It has an AMD 1700+ palamino Athlon XP in it right now, w/ 512MB of RAM.

Should I look at a new vid card to? I have a nVidia GeForce 4 MX420 currently, which I beleive is 64MB on board... do I need something with 128MB or 256MB? What?

I have to give my laptop back to work. I want to erase EVERYTHING I possibly can. I know how to do the basics with deleting history and cleaning out temp files but I want all of the stuff that is deep in the recesses of the hard drive GONE any help is appreciated! THANKS!
