The card that Dell sells (ATI Radeon Mobility X300) is junk and way overpriced, but I can't seem to find another card that will work with my laptop. Suggestions?

My In-Laws' computer crashed, its gonna be WAY too much to have it fixed...So, I need to know if it is possible to pull the hard drive from the old one (It was a custo built 'puter), and possibly, some way plug it into the usb, or some other port, in order to put pics (that they don't have ANYWHERE else) onto their new computer(will NOT be custom built...I think they're gonna pick up a cheapo at Wal-Mart)

What will an average pc of today need inside it ,in terms of hardware? Also, what are the current standards of hardware components, which are value for money, and deliver exceptional performance. Pls advice on brands of the hardware also. How long can they last? What other addition can be made and their purpose.Preferably like to hear views from singaporeans and malaysians since i'm living in Singapore for prices and availability of components.

When I do a fragment run it tells me that some defragmented files could not be defragmented, Why? Is there some thing I can do or will I have to take it to a professonal. also can some one explain why, when I want to maxamize a web page it does not work? I am using "Windows XP" SP2.

The plugs are numbered. I also have a dvd-rom and disc drive. They all seem to have plugs. The reason I'm replacing cd-rom
is it didn't light up or open. Can you tell me if there are extra plugs
for adding components?

I've just accidently uninstalled my graphic card driver.. And restarted the PC. Now when I turn on the PC, all I hear is a loud "beep..... beep" sound, the PC seems frozed and the moniter is blank.

Hello,
my kids took off the speakers on my computer! Put them back on and now I have a horrible echo when I play a DVD rom especially a speaking voice! Sounds horrible.
How do I get rid of the echo?
