Now while that is a great site, don't pay any attention to there price/performance index, it is worthless, it has numerous errors in it. As for the bus speed thing, AMD uses HyperTransport which is far better than Intels bus system, so I don't really know what that one guy was talking about.

The AMD processor hands down. Pentium Ds do not perform as well in benchmarks and have issues with overheating. Right now only the Intel Core 2 Duo is better than Athlong64 X2s.

According to TomsHardware.com, if you're running 50% games and 50% apps, the price performance index would be better for the Pentium D 820 than the AMD 64 X2 4200+.

depends on what your are doing intel usally haas a faster bus speed meaning it can access the divces fast but the amd athlon is perfect for gaming
