The card that Dell sells (ATI Radeon Mobility X300) is junk and way overpriced, but I can't seem to find another card that will work with my laptop. Suggestions?

Actually, you can add a video card to a laptop, if it has the available PCI-E port in which to install the card. The Inspiron 6000 has an available port for a video card, but the card Dell sells to fill that port is the ATI Radeon Mobility X300. What I want to know is if there is another card that will fit the port. If NVidia makes a mobile video card that fits the port, I'd be interested, but I can't find any good industry info on what is available.

Yep...the one that is already inside it.

You cant upgrade the video card on the laptop.

How exactly do you fit a 4 inch port that takes a card that is 6 inches long and 4 inches tall, into a laptoop i wonder.......

You cannot upgrade the Dell Insperon 6000 Laptop with a PCI-E video card. It is imposible. All laptops have their video cards built in on the motherboard and are not replacable.

If you blow a videocard on a laptop then you must replace the entire motherboard.

usually cards in notebooks are propriatary. depending on your processor and motherboard you may or may not be able to get a different card. if you have a pentium you can get a geforce go fx 6500 or higher, also remember to add ram with it. if you have an AMD.....well ur stuck with your radeon, u may be able to get a better raedon though...

Unfortunately, you will not be able to add a new video card to your laptop.
