Test your disk to fix these errors.
Double click on My Computer, then Right click on the C drive and pick PROPERTIES. Then go to the TOOLS section. Click the TEST NOW button. Check both test and fix buttons. Click YES to do the test after you RESTART. Then restart your computer to run this full test. This should fix the problem.

I recommend that you also run DISK CLEANUP before running defrag. Pick all categories of these old dead temporary files and such. There is no need to defrag files that you should delete.

Good luck

Hopefully you really mean "When I do a defragment run it tells me that some fragmented files could not be defragmented," not all files can be defragged - some need to be in specific locations.

If the maximise button does not work on the PC try alt+spacebar and the x, if it doesn't work on all pages then you will probably have to reinstall your browswer

I get this sometimes as well, do you have internet security software installed, if so this might be the file it can't fragment, I have Mcafee internet security and it can't defragment but this is perfectly okay, as for your web pages not increasing I would go to microsoft.com and get advice they should be able to help you on just about anything concerning your software/computer, hope that helps.

I have a multi-boot system. Frequently, i have de-fragged one system using the other, in other words, I defrag the non running system using the running system. In order to get a pefect defrag, I delete "Pagefile.sys" then cut and paste back shellicon cache. Result, perfect. Running the system then will restore pagefile.sys.

You may want start with repairing any disc errors you have & then delete your cookies & then you will be ready to defragment
again. Sometimes disc errors throw a monkey wrench in the works, sometimes the unable to defragmemt things are connected to programs that you don't want to delete
