The plugs are numbered. I also have a dvd-rom and disc drive. They all seem to have plugs. The reason I'm replacing cd-rom
is it didn't light up or open. Can you tell me if there are extra plugs
for adding components?

Yes, there are extra plugs. Usually there are several in a computer. 2 for Hard Drives 2 for CD/DVD drives and one for diskette.

If its a white power connection that has four holes in the connection then its fine, its just extra power sources for other devices you may wish to add.
They generally are numbered with a pre-fixed P.
