1. Right-click a blank spot on the Desktop and select “Properties” from the menu that appears.
2. Click the “Effects” tab.
3. Check the “Hide icons when the desktop is view as a Web page” check box. This will cause the icons to be hidden if you have the Active Desktop enabled.
Tip: The Desktop icons will only be hidden if you have the Active Desktop enabled.

if you are a windows XP user then don't worry.
here's a few steps u need to follow.
1. Right click on the task bar
2. Click on Properties (taskbar and start menu properties comes)
3. then click on the start menu and and click on start menu button
4. now u can delete all the files on the desktop and keep some where else but u cant do that with your recycle bin menu as it is permanent on the desktop. Rest of the things like My Computer, My Documents u can use bu clicking on start menu.

Right click on the desktop, Arrange icons by-show desk top icons,if you right mark on show desk top icons, it will show the desk top icons if you removes the right mark. it will hide the icons.

if you want to hide My Computers, My Documents you can actually right click on Desktop then Properties then you can desktop option in the box and customize desktop(at bottom above ok,cancle,apply) then unclick onn my computers and my documents and other options
if you want them back reverse the proces by again ticking on the options

Right click and scroll to delete it doesnt delete the program it just gets rid of it from the desktop its still in your programs when you want to use it.

first you should right click the icons itself.....choose send to and click the my documents....then your icons are gone in the desktop....dont worry,, they are in your documents.....i hope my advice works...try it now..!!!!!

open a new folder, name it , anything you want ...drag all your icons in that folder, double click to drag out
