I have GA-8VT880 Series Motherboard. It supports 4 184-pin DDR Dimm Sockets.
Since i cannot i find new DDR 1G on the market here , can i use DDR2

Hi,
My home comp (not this laptop) seems to have busted. it was brand new 6 months ago. it just froze during printing something. it was restarted and now all that comes up is a black screen, with white writing saying blah blah
start in safe mode
with coimmand prompt
with networking
with last known good configuration

but you try any one of these and it seems to start, the widnows thing loads, then the dell screen loads then it whirrs, whines and starts up again over and over. no matter what you do or choose.mum also thinks that there's a power light not on.
i've tried everything i know!
we're desperate!

Hi all. I've got NTL at home. I only have one TV in the lounge and just heard about being able to watch TV on a laptop.

I heard about Hauppage but it seems to be about Freeview.

Would it be possible to watch NTL on my laptop and how?

I have used up almost all of my 60g drive. Plan to fit a 2nd one as the cables have a 2nd socket. I am running Windows XP. Will it just see the new drive without any problem?

I put a new battery in it, and only the lights at the top came on. My charger is acting funny, its making this quiet, high pitched beeping noise every time i plug it in. I know nothing about laptops, or computers for that matter, can anyone help?

Ok, so i bought this pelican TSZ game pad. i plugged it into my dell and the controller started to install itself. after it installed, it said it was installed "improporly" every time i plug in my controller to my dell it doesnt want know that it's their, so, how do i reinstall it?

i have just run a 3dmark benchmark using the 2003 edition and returned a score of 3840
i would just like to compare this with anyone else who has run this test
i also ran the 2001 3dmark aswell and gained a score of 8400 which was quite suprising as when i ran it before with a geforce 4mmx(128mb) i only got 3000
my system specs now are
athlon 3200+ cpu
128mb nvidia ge-force 6200
1gb ddr ram(pc3200)
2 x 80gb seagate hdd
nvidia n/force 3 chipset
soundblaster audigy sound
19" crt monitor(cant stand tft,s too dark)
any comparisons would be appreciated

i have a picture on my desktop but all the icons eg my documents, my computer, antivirus etc.. have a blue backing behind them, on my friends computer the icons are there but no backing, i want the backing to go so it dosent disrupt the picture background does any1 know how i do it?

I mainly use it at home these days and I want to conserve the battery. It works fine on AC power but I want to confirm if there are any drawbacks. Secondly, the notebook goes into hibernation within a few minutes when the battery is not attached even though I have adjusted the settings. Why does that happen and how can I stop it from doing that.

my mom's computer is a Compaq Presario Windows XP laptop.. now when you start the computer it says to sign in..she put a password on it so we cant get it... is there ANY way i could figure out the password, or get by the password part in any way at all? thnks!
