I using windows xp.
Nothing wrong with zip drive, because i try before another new zip drive but still can't detect disk.

Besides what has already been mentioned, it is also possible that the disk is the wrong "size" and the drive can't recognize it.

100MB drive can not identify 250MB disk
250mb drive can not identify 750mb disk.

Have you tried a different disk? They can go bad.

Windows XP should show the zip drive under "My Computer". You shouldn't need any software installed for XP to do this (like Iomega crap). If the drive is there but you can't see the disk I'd say the disk is bad and you should try a different one.

Are the Zip drivers correctly installed? Is it slaved to the HD?
