2 days ago I came home and restarted my comp, and the video wouldn't come on at all. I thought the video card was fried, so I replaced it with another card, which worked fine. I tested the old "blown" card in another computer, and it worked. So, just for kicks I tried it again in the original comp, and now its working. What could cause this? The only other thing I did was clean some dust off of the heat sink/fan on the card. I doubt that would fix a malfunction of the video card. It's a Radeon 9800 pro 128 MB running on an athlon 64 comp.

Could I play WOW on a HP Inspiron B130 laptop? I think the graphics are integrated. Or do I need to have a nividia card or something. If this one won't work, could you suggest a laptop under $100 that would do the trick?

Thanks, Nick

Endgame: Record both sides of a phone conversation.

I'm not actually sure if this is possible, but I was hoping someone out there would have an answer on how to do this.

I need to record two sources: My Sound Card's "Wave Out Mix", and my USB Microphone, which is listed as a seperate sound card.

Using Skype, and Audacity, I can record either side of the conversation fine - just not at the same time.

(Two instances of Audacity doesn't work either)

Thanks in advance.

I recently installed a SATA HDD. I have a Chaintech 9CJS Zenith motherboard. After a brief Windows XP screen appears, I get a blue screen with an error code. From what I've read, I need to install RAID drivers, but I only have one (1) hard drive installed (SATA). Do I still need to install the RAID drivers? In which configuration then? And how would I go about doing it? I put what I think are the correct files on a floppy to install by pressing F6 during the boot up windows xp screen, but I don't want to try it. Basically, I don't want to screw up my computer. I'm leaving for school in two days and need to do this beforehand. If someone could help, I'd appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

Jesse

I have a LaserJet 8150N printer which has a JetDirect network card installed. I bought the printer used without manuals. The current IP address on the printer is 192.0.0.192, with the same IP for the default gateway and no subnet mask specified. I need to change this address to 192.168.1.253, with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and a default gateway of 192.168.1.1.

I have tried downloading network setup software from HP for this (Windows XP) without success. I have also gone through the printer panel several times looking for a place to change the IP and I cannot find a place to change the address. I get to a place that says IP Yes/No, but that doesn't let me change the address.

Can someone tell me how to do this either through software or through the panel on the printer?

Thanks.

I've got an external HD via USB.

When I reboot my PC with it plugged in, it significantly slows down the boot time - by like 2 minutes.

Why is this? Is it doing something to initialize the HD? What can I do to stop it from happening, short of unplugging it every time I reboot?
