Endgame: Record both sides of a phone conversation.

I'm not actually sure if this is possible, but I was hoping someone out there would have an answer on how to do this.

I need to record two sources: My Sound Card's "Wave Out Mix", and my USB Microphone, which is listed as a seperate sound card.

Using Skype, and Audacity, I can record either side of the conversation fine - just not at the same time.

(Two instances of Audacity doesn't work either)

Thanks in advance.

I tried to record a hockey game I as watching and a radio broadcast of the same game on my PC. After much research and advice I came to the conclusion I could not.

How about using the stereo input on your sound card. Record one conversation on the left channel and one on the right. That is essentially two different recordings. You can use the balance to play them separately or center the balance to play it together. It would be perfect for recording a two way phone conversation.

Ok....I believe this will work...In Adobe Audition...Select Track 1 input as wave, and forTrack 2...see if your usb mic is listed as an option. If it is....you are in luck. This may work for Pro Tools too.

Get a splitter. One end, the male end, goes into the Out slot (where your speaker is plugged in). Then you plug in the speaker to one of the females. Then, get a two way 3.5 mm male cable to plug into the microphone slot and the other female slot in the splitter. You can buy them at the links below.
