I bought a video card that requires connection to the power supply but the cable that i have left is not long enough to reach the video card, are there extensions to make this cables longer?

Every church activity (Sunday and Wednesday) needs a Power Point display showing activity information. I make the presentation at home, burn it on a CD -R take it to church, run it, then bring the disk home to copy another power point presentation. But, one copy is all it will allow, there's certainly room on the disk. Someone help please? I Re-Formatted the disk which did not help.

Now by it's specs it looks to be very good, but the company I have never heard of, is it any good, because there is a 3 year warranty on the monitor so should I go with that company?

It is an HP Pavilion a1355c. My brother got a virus on my computer about 2 weeks ago, and it erased my hard drive. when I try and install ANY version of Windows (Windows XP Pro and Windows Vista Ultimate), it installs just fine, but when the computer starts after installation, it just keeps restarting. I installed Kubuntu Linux and I don't get the infinite reboots. Please help! I need to fix this computer ASAP! and also, I need to know if this is a hardware or a software failure. Thanks!

The virus wiped my hard drive.. and I have an XP Pro disc and a Vista Ultimate disc... :( and the Windows installation won't work at all...only Linux works.

I know Windows has got like a million virus threats and Mac has like, none, but I still don't think it's worth it. I mean they're about twice as expensive as Windows, they don't work with many softwares, including games, and if you buy a game for Mac, it's about twice as expensive as the same game for windows, and they don't have them in every store. My mom bought a Mac laptop once for about 3000 dollars, I believe; this was a long time ago.. And basically everything sucked. The screen was so thin, just by moving it or touching it it looked like it was gonna break. And after some time, it seemed that the keyboard itself was destroying the screen, cause it had little scratches all over it, and we had to put a piece of cloth there. The mouse had only one button. And after a while it go really slow.
So all of you Mac lovers out there, convince me to buy a Mac instead of a Vista. I'm open-minded; I think the new Macs look cool except for the price and the software problems I mentioned.

My brother and I are sharing a computer. There are times that the system runs okay but most of the times its slow thus my brother always ended up in shutting it down "improperly" and I know that's not good for the computer, but he always denies it! i got this virus called deflib.dll something and my antivirus pop up always show it and then freeze!!!! i got avast 4.7 home edition and i tryed to delete it in safe mode and i did it succesfully but when i restart and in normal mode IT pops up again!!!!!!!!!! cant delete it at allllllllllll what to dooooooooooo HELP!!

Hello to All,

Gotta a situation here. To be blunt, I am not much of a computer whiz. My Vista loads with a bar at the bottom of my screen that says Microsoft Corporation. then it go's to a black screen and then my mouse pointer pops up. I can move that pointer just fine, but it is just a black screen. Anyone have any clues? Yes- I ran the install DVD and ran all the repairs.

I am familiar with XP a bit, but Vista seems to be built on something called a BCD manager. I do not think it is the boot as it gets past the bar (progressing bar?) and that means it is the GUI, correct? What controls the Vista GUI and how can I repair it? step by step help would be great as I have very important family photos on there. My email is blade_begins@yahoo.com. If you know a lot about Vista, give me all the help you can....step by step, however you want so I can get this booting to my desktop.

I have a Windows XP computer. A few days ago my mom put it so "sleep" by activating the "stand by" mode, the next morning when I went to turn it on, i pressed the button on the disc drive but it wouldn't work! The moniter light is on but the disc drive wont work. My dad says it might just have blown a fuse. Can anyone give me some tips on how to get it started again? Or what the problem might be?? Thanks :-(

oh and by the way, im not a blonde... wait yes i am.. thats not the point! I am on my Mac

I use Mircrosoft Works 8 on my other PC, but I need to get the files to Microsoft Word. I can't open the files with the latter. Copy/paste does not work. Will it work if I copy the script to WordPad, save it, and then copy it over to works?
