upgrading from sempron 3500+ to athlon 64 x2 5000+. I done my psu and gpu and ram recently. But i dont know anything about cmos or bios. Could someone shed some light on this please...

I have a Yahoo, Google, AOL and MSN account. Is there a program or website that allows me to read them all from the same place? I can't just forward them all to the same place, since Yahoo's free service doesn't support auto forwarding.

At the moment I have a piece of script for a button:

onmouseover="style.backgroundColor='<%=background3%>';"

I to change this for a background image - I pressume I would need to use something like:

onmouseover="style.backgroundImage='url(image/button.gif)' ;"

but of course that does'nt work does anyone know what I need to do ?

HP Pavilion A700N about 3 years old. Was working fine, except for some power-management issues (when in standby mode, it would shut off instead of coming out of standby when I touched the keyboard). Won't turn on at all this morning. Green light under the power cord receptacle in the back is blinking.
There was a power outage last night but the computer was off at the time, and the surge protector seems to be working fine.
Thank you for any ideas.

I have a new, refurbished computer with XP, P4, 1.8 GHz, 150GB HD (almost empty) and 1 GB ram. Almost every mouse operation I perform, left-click, double-click, even dragging files, causes the dredded hourglass to appear and it takes about one minute for the action to complete. Does anyone have any insight into this phenomenon.?

I have really done it this time. I use McAfee Anti Virus/Spyware and last week I "okayed" a dowload I shouldn't have because now my pc is running very slow and I have ads popping up all over the place. They seem to be associated with "ads campaign.com".

I was trying to get something for free that I shouldn't have - it's my own fault).

I tried to do a system restore, but the only dates available for restore are the 14th, 15th, and 16th of this month (I need to go back further than that).

I did a scan with McAfee, and nothing came up. How do I get rid of this malware?

I need some advice please on adding an editable box for latest news on my home page. Basically it needs to be change by someone who has no html ability let alone Frontpage or Dreamweaver .
I guess its like a mini CMS.

the pictures on my screen seem to have taken a giant step forward. things are bigger. when i go to play cards i can't see where you talk cause every thing is bigger. how do i back everything back up? i am no computer whiz...so please make it simple..thanks

(This is realy for my mate - lol) He must of downloaded a dodgy file or a virus because his laptop's all messed up. He wanted to clear it all away and start again. He didn't want to pay for anybody to do it for him so he used the recovery disk to install Windows Xp over his copy of Windows Xp. Now, when he boots, he gets a small glipmse of the Xp logo and then another small glimpse of a blue screen, then finaly the laptop restarts. (he says) he's tried using the recovery console but it still dosent boot and he was wondering if there was anything else he could do. (He *was* running Windows XP, SP 2) If theres anything else you need to know I'll ask him. Thanks in advance.

hey , please i need ure help with this problem, i have the cable that the ISP gave me , its connected to the router and the router divides it onto 3 computers, how can i have my computer outside the home network so how can i divide the ISP cable into my PC and the router ? i have like those small machines that divide the phone lines, its similar to it, but its for the networking cables, can those be helpful ? I also have a switch , can i take advantage of that also ? like take the ISP cable, the router cable and my pcs cable and conenct them to that switch ? now the prob is, i have to work with the Ips, PLEASE CAN U HELP ME ?

I have just bought a Mac laptop, and am trying to register it to the internet using a phone cable modem. Since I don't have my own internet account, I used my parent's account information. But all it says is "cannot connect to server." Do I need my own account to connect? I am very frustrated. Help! I will choose a best answerer!

I need to connect two laptops with a communications cable to transfer data between them. I had backed up all the data one from one computer to the other, by linking them them with a communications cable (i don't know if it is a croosover cable or anything). It had worked, and i had copied data by browsing the computer through the other one. But know i can't figure out which ip address i had given each and blablabla. I need to connect them successfully and transfer data. THe computers both have xp, one has home edition, other professional. please help.

im getting a dell laptop and i wanna get an anti virus software just for about 15 months..i'll get a full one then, when i can afford it...

so the 2 options for 15 months are McAfee and Norton...BOTH $79...i've only had Norton, but my dad said he had heard McAfee MIGHT even be better...

which would you reccomend? again, theyre the same price for the same amount of time...soo...yeah. merci :)
