Right now I have Norton's and it really makes my machine slow. Maybe I should save the 40 bucks or whatever it was and go with Comcast's free McAfee? Is the free McAfee just as good as Norton? It's time to renew so I have to know soon. Thanks.

I have the 2007 Norton Internet Security and I have noticed my computer running slower, so I ran a full system scan. It only found one problem, and it was called a "Tracking Cookie". I had it resolved and it said there were no more problems. Then the next day I ran the scan again and it found the same tracking cookie and I resolved it again. Ive done this everyday and theres always that same tracking cookie there that I have to get rid of. How do I permanently get rid of it? Because Norton cant seem to. And I frequently delete internet cookies and files on my browser too keep it from slowing down so that cant be the problem. Anyone know whats wrong?

I like to go on the internet, play the sims 2, write in my "Journal" on Microsoft Word, Word Pad, etc. And I like to watch videos, like on You Tube and theCW.com and ABC.com and everything. I also play games like Nancy Drew, Second Life (gossip girl). Is this the right laptop for me?

I was trying to clean up disc space on my harddrive but, somehow keep getting a spy wear alert on my tool bar (yellow hazzard symbol) even though I have MS onecare, and pc is well protected, system alert comes up? I had spy wear turn off when it happened? But the Icon won't go away, as it only pops up when I'm on certain sites I made it inactive or hidden in control panel, but after a restart it is active again?

Please help????

PLEASE READ.

IT IS NOT THE PASSWORD TO BE ABLE TO USE THE COMPUTER.

Every time I turn on my computer, it brings me to a place where my screen is mostly all BLACK, but there is a little visible LOCK that I have to open with a password. I DO know the password. So, when I enter the password then it brings me to computer time set-up and so on.

HOW CAN I MAKE MY COMPUTER TO STOP DOING THIS?

I want the network to go like this, cabel modem from charter communications to a wireless router (this part works fine) then to go to my desktop pc threw wireless and from the desktop to a wired router to my xbox 360 and another computer. I have all supplies and LAN cables to make this happen so far but I cant get internet on my 360 or the other computer (i have internet connection on and the router is set with auto obtain ip and DHCP on) please help me figure out what settings i need to change to make this work :) I am fairly computer literate so I will probably figure out what you tech people are talking about :). It should be noted that if i connect the computer to the 360 or the computer individually the internet works on both but with the router (so I don't have to switch cables) it does not.

My school server has files on it that I need for a project, but I don't know how to connect to the server using Windows XP, only Mac OS X but, unfortunately, I don't have a Mac and it's a pain for me to ask to use someones Mac just to connect to the server and email the files to myself. Everytime I want to open a folder My computer gives me a message saying " Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close...". It gives me the option to send an error report debug or dont send. It seems like the more I open folders the more I get this message. I am running a Windows XP Professional. i do not leave my computer on overnight due to power usage for no reason (unless backing up files and whatnot) i htink it is actually stupid to leave it on when it uses power uses the life of your pc parts when you dont have to and it keeps me asleep due to leds and uv light what do you think? does it do anything to the hardware when i turn it off when ever i dont use it for long peroids of time (hours) used everyday thanks

Whenever i play Far Cry now, i get these unprocessed bits of graphics, turning into scrambled data or something. Theres these horrible black lines and these lines sometimes make like horrible brown coloured boxes in the game. I never had a problem like this before when i played it over a year ago, but recently when i played it from the start it was corrupt. It kept on saying to repait the file, so i did, twice. No difference really. I have uninstalled it now and i need your help. thanks.
