Right now I have Norton's and it really makes my machine slow. Maybe I should save the 40 bucks or whatever it was and go with Comcast's free McAfee? Is the free McAfee just as good as Norton? It's time to renew so I have to know soon. Thanks.

Nortons and McAfee are both GARBAGE!

Use the tool below to get rid of Nortons, then use all of the following FREE programs.

AVG Antivirus - Free Antivirus Software
(CNET: "AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition is the most popular free solution available at no cost to home users and provides the high level of detection capability that millions of users around the world trust to protect their computers.")

Ad-Aware - Free Antispyware Software
(CNET: "One of the first applications built to find and remove adware and spyware, Ad-Aware 2007's excellent reputation is well-justified.")

Spybot Search&Destroy - Free Antispyware/Antitrojan Software
Some REALLY great features of Spybot Search&Destroy: Its ability to help your PC block known spyware/hijacker sites with Immunize feature, a Secure Shredder for truly removing files from your PC, and Startup, which allows you to view the files starting with Windows.

SuperAntiSpyware
SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition is 100% Free and will detect and remove thousands of Spyware, Adware, Malware, Trojans, KeyLoggers, Dialers, Hi-Jackers, and Worms. SUPERAntiSpyware features many unique and powerful technologies and removes spyware threats that other applications fail to remove.

Hope this helps.

Nortons is a hugh resource hog and in my own personal opinion being I beta test just about every antiviurs program and spyware program availabe in my spare time. Plus Nortons is not all that good for finding viruses. They are very skilled at marketing only.

McAfee is not all that good.

Suggest that you try what I use for the past ten years. You pay a one time fee of $29.99 for life and get daily auto. updates and all new versions for life. Also used by the Govt. Of China. Never had one virus in ten plus years.

You can download the complete program for a thirty day evaluation, with a registration key that comes with the download. After thirty days you will have to purchase the software.

Myself I consider Twister Trojan Antivirus light years ahead of any other known antivirus on the market.

Hi Did the support say which ones were conflicting? I don't believe there will be any conflicts if you just run on-demand scanners, such as Superantispyware free and Malwarebytes Antimalware free.

I had McAffie and I kept getting trojans and they were messing up my computer until a friend turned me on to these. He uses them in his business and they are very good. And they are all free!
AVG is good protection for your computer and Reg Clean,Spy Bot and Ad Ware are compatiable with your system. Down load all of these. When things are free they don't give you all the services but combined you will have better protection. So make sure you load all of them and check it out for yourself. I use all of these and I have XP.
