Hi,
I am getting a new computer because mine is old and slow and locks up constantly. Anyhow, I would like to transfer my music, documents, and photos onto my new hard drive. Can someone tell me the easiest way to do this? Is there some kind of portable USB drive that I can buy, and if so, how would I go about using it, do I do a backup, or do I just save to it, etc? THANK YOU !!! Happy Holidays to all,
Andrea

We are purchasing new computers for my house this Christmas and I wish to install MS Office 2007 on all of them. When I looked online I could only find information about licensing multiple computers in business settings. So I'm not sure, short of buying the program a few times, what the best solution would be. Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

My son is asking for a Laptop for Christmas. I am in bad need of some advice on what name brand and the things I need to be aware of when purchasing a computer. I would like to purchase one that would come w/the printer and everything when purchased. I would like for it to be a reasonable price, but on the same note, I would also prefer to pay good money for something that will be good and last for a long time than to try getting out cheap and have something not worth the money!!! CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE?????

Sometimes out of no where my laptop will make a very odd sound. My best way to describe the sound is...... it sounds like something is crawling in the the laptop..... or like somebody is crinkling a plastic candy wrapper. It has been going on for a few months now. It happens at random times. Anybody have the same issue?

I have to make a persuasive speech in which my argument is that laptops are better than desktops. So far I have made a list of pros and cons for each:

Laptop
Pros: Portable, All in one design, more productivity(can use it anywhere), sleek designs, lots of choices(size, weight, prices), wireless internet
Cons: more expensive, fragile,

Desktop
Pros: Faster, less expensive, can have bigger monitors,
Cons: Big, lot of wires, takes up a lot space

The speech has to be over 6 minutes so I don't think I have enough information. Does anyone have any other good arguments why laptops are better than Desktops? Thank You.

the MMU compares the incoming (virtual) address to the limit register, causing a fault if it is too large. An alternative design would be to first add the virtual address to the base register and then compare the result to the (physical) address in the limit register. Are the two methods logically equivalent? Are they equivalent in performance?

Recently I had to re install Microsoft 2003 on my Desktop computer. Not being familiar with the software, I foolishly "lost" all my archive files and folders on "Microsoft Outlook".

The installation has reverted back to an initial state of some kind with history or archives.

I have to accept that I have lost everything.

I am not familiar in how to sign-up and get the "Outlook" package connected again.

Could you please give me brief and simple instructions to follow.

My present Internet server is "Tiscali".

Is this anything to do with getting "Outlook" going again?

Kind Regards,

Earlene S

No one in class can get the software install to automatically load on the client pc. I'll try to sum it up the best I can. Have a class that we are working with Windows Server 2003. Have a Domain setup on our host pc. Have a second pc that is a client and can logon the domain. It can access the public folder that we setup. (We also put the test program Windows Defender MSI in there). We installed GPMC and are using Group Policy Manager (we also tried a similiar method in AD Users and Comps). So, we name our policy Push1 and we mapped it as \\server\folder\file.msi as per Microsoft's instructions (not browse). We double checked the members of/rights area and the clientxp (our test login name) has that. Both under the computer management and user management we tried setting up these GPO Software installs. Weird thing is that if we restart the server, it auto installs on there. I double checked and it shows it as comp/user management for our domain not the local pc Any ideas? Can add info

I have an HP pavillion desktop and got the S.M.A.R.T. warning. Disk status: Bad. Failure is imminent. Immeidately back up your data. A friend and I tried installing a new hard drive but windows wouldn't load on it. It had a lot of debris covering the cooling fan on the back and figure that the motherboard probably fried. If I buy an enclosure for the internal drive and try to retrieve the data via usb, will it be forever dedicated to the enclosure? If the drive is bad, what are my other data-extracting options? BTW, the hard drive doesn't make any noise.
