My son is asking for a Laptop for Christmas. I am in bad need of some advice on what name brand and the things I need to be aware of when purchasing a computer. I would like to purchase one that would come w/the printer and everything when purchased. I would like for it to be a reasonable price, but on the same note, I would also prefer to pay good money for something that will be good and last for a long time than to try getting out cheap and have something not worth the money!!! CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE?????

Apple is the way to go. No hassle with setup and maintenance, and you can get rebates when you buy it with a printer from Apple. All I can remember is the bunch of PC laptops my sister bought and the endless hassle we had to go through, and eventually ditching the damn things and heading back off to the Apple Store, so yeah, go for a MacBook, you won't regret it.

My suggestion is don't buy a laptop. many reasons, 1 it may be portable but it has less memory than a Computer, and 2 is that if your buying it to your son, then it would be best to have the computer at home, so u can always see what he's doing

since you need one that's more bang for the buck, may i suggest an HP dv6000 series? pay attention to processor speed, hard drive size & ram size. i don't know how old your son is & what he's gonna do with the laptop but one with core2duo 1.5ghz or its AMD equivalent, 80-120gb hard drive & 1-2gb ram would be perfect for him.it would be great if it came with a nvidia geforce or ati radeon graphics card. price range is from $600 - $2,000. i'm sure you'll find one you like.

Do you have any details on what it is going to be used for? That way we can advise you better on what laptop. Otherwise all we can suggest is a really expensive one that will cover pretty much all the bases.
So what is your son going to use the laptop for?

I personally prefer Toshiba or Dell, you can also though find a few laptops you think would work and go to google.com or ask.com and type in customer reviews for such and such laptop and read what others have to say about them.
