I have to make a persuasive speech in which my argument is that laptops are better than desktops. So far I have made a list of pros and cons for each:

Laptop
Pros: Portable, All in one design, more productivity(can use it anywhere), sleek designs, lots of choices(size, weight, prices), wireless internet
Cons: more expensive, fragile,

Desktop
Pros: Faster, less expensive, can have bigger monitors,
Cons: Big, lot of wires, takes up a lot space

The speech has to be over 6 minutes so I don't think I have enough information. Does anyone have any other good arguments why laptops are better than Desktops? Thank You.

Desktop Pros: Expandable, more powerful, wireless, more RAM, more storage (larger and multiple hard drives), more ports, better graphics cards, more customizable to the users needs.

I think that laptops are the answer (I'm on one right now!). I think that because you can also use them as a desktop computer. if you do that though you might consider getting a laptop with a widescreen. Yes Laptops are more fragile, but if you actually take care of your laptop, it should last. Also, some stores practically give out laptops for the prices of around $200-$400! That's not that cheap, but if you think that really new laptops cost like $600! So I think Laptops are you best answer.
Now desktops. what do you say. I think that desktops are nice if you don't go from your moms house to your dads house like I do. (my parents are divorced) I mean, you can get big, flat screens for your desktop or you can get small, giant screens. I mean some times, desktops aren't always faster. Plus, if you do take your laptop with you, then why have two computers.
Well, my overall answer is . . .

LAPTOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.- You should check out Apple's iMac's and MacBook lines!

Any Mac users would shoot down some of your arguments. My MacBook cost less than my iMac, so it wasn't more expensive. My iMac is wireless and comes that way, it has a smaller desktop footprint than my MacBook and has no wires other than the power cord. Everything else (keyboard, mouse) are wireless also. You can also hook up external monitors to laptops and have a bigger screen.
The main advantage of a deskktop computer is the flexibility, you can add more to it, change the components more easily. The main advantage of a laptop is portability.

I personally think desktops are better--you can get a wireless card for your system and wireless keyboards and mice also. This eliminates many wires.

why laptops are better? well, there's mobility, versatility, doesn't heat up as much as a desktop does, built in UPS (thanks to its battery), can be used even when there is power failure, built in wireless cards in most modern machines, & sleeker, more attractive look. hope that helps.
