Depends on the size of the movie, for example Ratatouille is 1.3Gb - so 3 movies in 4gb and 6 in 8Gb.

I based my answer on the info for movies on iTunes. I was assuming the asker wanted to watch movies on a 4Gb iPod like device.

You mean like Regular DVD movies? Well sense most DVD movies are on like 9gb disc (because of the way the Movie is "burned" onto the disc it can hold that much). You really can't fit a normal Movie onto a 4gb DVD, you have to shrink it (Compress it some how) to get it to fit. So one movie would be close to fitting pretty good on a an 8gb disc.

The average movie takes up about 700-800 megs on your HD. That'd be a running time of around 90 minutes. Keep in mind that if the HD also holds your O/S then you need at least 10% free for operating space.

Using the right movie copying software, you can fit one movie on a normal 4gb+ DVD, and you can fit 2 on a DL-DVD (8gbs+)
Btw, your operating system has nothing to do with this at all...LOL

4GB 1 movie if you compress it.
