when i started my computer today, everything was okay eccept my desktop background, which was totally black, and i couldn't change it

The error reflects the problem as a Hardware or Software Driver in Windows XP. Already updated all Windows updates. Upgraded all drivers that I could find. Please advise on correcting this error.

Hello. I've been trying to find the source of some persistent popups on my computer. The antivirus and spam killer don't stop them. I'm computer stupid, trying to go through bit by bit. Does anyone know what this file does: It is c:\windows\system32\mdsnyfvw.exe.

I want to get born again but something is holding me back?
Im a christian,i was born again @the age of13 in 1997-2000when i back slided, i realy want to get born again but then i feel as though something is holding me back, the best excuse th@ i come up with is that im not ready, iwant to become an evengelist some day, but iv'e got plenty of an ansswered questions that i feel like no human being can answer except God himself, sometimes i wish he could appear to me and answer all my questions, then atlist my mind and my life would be at ease. Sometimes i feel as though im alone and God ignores all prayers and when i pray i feel like im making a fool of my self by talking to my self. Can anyone plz help me out of this situation?

I want to upgrade my video card to the amd x1950pro 256mb
and i want to upgrade the power supply to a 500 watts Antec one.
If you have any suggestions about the video card or the power supply please tell me but try to stay in the same price range.

I got spy shredder on my comp and i downloaded spybot and ran it and i found 15 spy shredder related things. i fixed problem and i re ran spybot to see if there were anymore and then i restarted comp and ran it again and found none. I also got 2 other spyware removal and scanned it still nothing. Its gone right?

My laptop gets really hot on the bottom to the point where it will just shut off completely. I always do disk cleanups and try not to overload it with extra programs. Why does it do this? It is very irritating and my warranty has already expired, so i can't bring it in .

I have some mp3 music files on a dvd RW disc which I am trying to transfer back on to my PC I have done this several times before so I know I am doing it correctly , but for some reason when I open the E drive to view the files on the disc and try to then highlight them it will only highlight the first few then it freezes, I need to put these on my pc then transfer them back to the disc.I have re- installed WMP 11 and done virus checks and everything else you can think of but it makes no difference can anyone help please, I am really desperate. Ok, we have 2 computers (one is running Vista 32-bit, the other XP Pro) on one cable broadband connection via a router. Both want to run torrent at the same time but without dramatically slowing down other internet programs, mainly internet explorer. We have tried setting download/upload limits in the torrent clients but if both machines are running torrent one machine always seems to get priority over the other and internet browsing becomes impossible. Is there anything that we can do to allow both machines to get fair download speeds and still be able to browse the internet?

Ok so ive burnt onto a cd using Nero before and had no problems.So what is going wrong now.

Im clicking on make an audio cd.
Im burning on a cd-r
Im playing the cd on a household cd player that plays other cd's ive burnt ok in the same way.

But now NO SOUND on the new burnt cd.

Now I must say I'm quite intelligible when it comes to PCs but when you get into these much much deeper aspects of hardware my knowledge begins to slip...

Anyway, this is my processor and all of its Super-Geek stats as provided by Intel:

Now I could give a Toss about the things like the Core Stepping or the Voltage and etc. but the one that bothers me is the Bus/Core Ratio.

The Intel pop-up that tries to explain it seems vague-ish, and wikipedia only says its the ratio between FSBus speed and Clock Speed.....

But if that were the case my value shouldnt be 10 should it? In my math it came out as a ratio of 2.5 (or 5 if you consider each core as 2.0ghz...)

Heres what I did anyway:

(2.0x10^9) / (800x10^6) which is the scientific notation for 2Ghz/800Mhz. My answer is 2.5.

SO my question is:

-Why is my ratio 10?
-Does each core run at 2.0ghz or 1.0Ghz?
