my friend has cable internet. i live 600yds down the road and the cable company wont service my house unless i pay them 5000.00. i want to use my freinds internet and go wifi so i can use it at my house. i want to broadcast a raidus signal so i cant be accused of stealing. if i go point to point i think that will violate their rules.

Would like to upload a song clip to Youtube. Don't have a camcorder and the sound from my LifeCam does not load clean, although the video is very good. Can I upload directly from the WindowMediaPlayer? Couldn't find any info on Youtube to do this. Do I need to get a better microphone?

I am currently using DVD Shrink 3.2 to backup and shrink a DVD on my hard drive. After that, I use Classic Image Tool and then DVD Decrypter to do the rest, including burning the DVD on a DVD - R. I'm not doing it for illegal purposes, I'm only making backup discs for my own collection as I commonly damage my DVD's often. So I was wondering, is there an all-in-one program out there that's FREE that will do all this work in one program? I'm sick of having to use several programs just to get this job done. Is there something, anything out there that could make this easier?

People are telling me about linux an OS of some kind which is supposed to be so great and free and I'm like what the hec? Can someone tell me exactly what it is and whats so great about it. Personally I wouldn't want or use Linux because I never heard of it until now and it can't be all that good if it's supposed to be free. I would prefer Windows, but I'm curious about it. Can someone give me a link of a computer using linux unstead of Windows.

hey im getting a laptop for my 16th birthday and i really want a macinstead of a pc. My sister got a mac at my age, but my mom wants me to get a pc like a sony or dell. And she thinks i only want it because of the free ipod nano that comes with it but the special offer ends today. Do you guys have any thing for me that i can use to tell my mom like information of pc laptops against macs. I know i appreciate her getting me one and how fortunate i am, but i would prefer a mac. She says it is for school, and my sister uses hers for college. And do you guys know if theres gonna be anymore promotions from buying the macs????

Anyone know what these folders are in the Windows\Temp folder?

The names are always just 10 digits, e.g. "1189936857" and have always been empty when I check (with all the options to view hidden folders/files & system files ON). I'm running Windows XP.

From the time-stamps it looks like one is created every time I boot up - Any ideas, please???

(They SEEM to delete without any side effects OK, so far!)

When I put a CD into my computer to view family pictures or even listen to music, it appears that there isn't a CD in my computer. I will then go to My Computer and there it still shows me that there isn't a CD in it. I can't afford to have it fixed so can someone tell me what is going on? Please!!!!

I have this program installed called Skype 1.2. I have no clue as to what it is. Don't even know how it got on my PC.

Im trying to get rid of it by going to add/remove programs but everytime I click to remove/unistall it tells me the file does not exist. What the heck is going on

I'll be getting a laptop/notebook for my graduation, and my sister was just going to buy me one, but I want to pick it out. The thing is: I don't know for sure what kind I want.

I'm looking for a good computer for on the go. I'll be traveling the country and going to college over the next few years, and I need one that'll last.

I want one that's good for media and games. Gotta keep my sanity while in college, right?!

I want one with a lot of RAM and space (I pretty sure that's the right term) and that is also good for word processing.

Erm, yeah, so can anyone help me find a good computer that isn't WAY too expensive? I mean, we gotta budget and all. I'm just looking for some site that are easy to navigate and straight forward.
