I turned off my computer when in a hurry and left a program running and now I don't know how to find it or how to turn it off. I know it's on cause every time we switch users its there.

Somehow Explorer got on task bar and I can access it by right clicking. If I want icons from Desk Top I must left click with middle finger and that's difficult for me. How do I get other desktop icons on task bar so I can activate them by right clicking.

It will work for a while, but then I've been getting the following error:

Google is giving me no problems. I scanned with 'avast' last night, and it removed a few items (as usual).

I previously asked where to find color palettes to use for painshop pro and may have asked it wrong....I wasn't referring to the materials colors but the palettes when you click on image and go down to where it says palette. These are normally .pal files and I am having no luck finding any. Anyone know where I can get them?

i'hve come across a site that was created by some people and is targeting another rather large group of people and some of it's content is pretty horrible....the last time i visited the site there were pictures uploaded of the said group and there were really degrading things up there on the site.....does'nt sound so bad maybe but it really really is since i recognize a couple of the people and its just infuriating.Their pictures should'nt be on there!!.... how can i report this or get the site shut down??

I don't know why, but my computer's clock isn't working and it's completly messing up the hardware I put in. I already went to control panel and adjusted the date/time, but every time I restart the computer, it always says Monday,January 01, 2001, 12:00 AM. Also, automatic internet syncronization doesn't work.

Okay, first of all, let me get this out of the way:
I AM NOT SUPPORTING OR SUGGESTING ANY ILLEGAL ACTIVITY AS FAR AS I'M AWARE

I'm not asking for an emulator to play downloaded, illegal games on.

With that being said...

I'm looking for the type of emulator that allows you to put your Playstation 2 discs into the computer and play them on your computer. I have one that works for the Playstation 1, so I figured there might be one for the PS2 as well.

The reason is that I have about three PS2 games now, but I don't have a PS2 or the money to buy one.

If anyone knows where you can find a PS2 emulator so I can play my games on the computer, please let me know where.

Thanks in advance for any help.

And again; I am not supporting illegal downloading of games.

For the past week or so when I have turned on my puter the dial-up connecter pops up automatically and it will not let me cancel it out. I sometimes use wireless instead of dial-up and have had no problems with this box coming up until recently. If I click cancel or the x box, the box will go away and come right up again. It will even do this when I am not trying to use the internet at all. If I open word, that box pops up in the way making my computer unusable (it won't minimize, just stays in the way) until I connect to a dial-up connection. I haven't been able to use this wireless thing at all since this started.

How do I get this to stop?

Can someone tell me how to find out what various abbreviations for certain programs are that are found in the start-up section from msconfig? I have a lot of items checked off in that section that start up automatically (Windows XP), and I'm sure I can disable many of them, but I want to know what they are before I disable them. How do I find out what those programs are - without "trial and error"?

I am planning to learn Flash/Actionscript also some asp.net. I was told to forget about java because there is 5 million programmers to compete with. Do you guys think Flash & asp.net are good bets and that the demand is still great? I've made a list of links and defined the active link, so people know what link they've just pressed and ergo, what page they are on (nice!). However I link these to different pages with the same navigation bar, but the active state doesn't get recognised because the page is new and refreshed, defeating the purpose of active links (stupid!). What is the workaround for this problem, and is there a way to do this without any scripting. If scripting is needed can it be done with php includes? Little help.

What software is there to make a photo gallery/slideshow on a DVD, that will work in a standard DVD player?

I've tried a couple programs before (I don't remember their names, it was several years ago) and they were horrible, crashing all the time or taking forever to deal with galleries that had a few hundred pictures in them.

Any suggestions? I'd prefer a free program, but I'm willing to pay up to $200 for one that will give professional looking results.

I am trying to squeeze out some more performance out of system before I retire her and get a new one. I currently have an Intel® Desktop Board D915PBL with an Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 630. I have a single generic hard drive and a GeForce 7950 GT for graphics. I am running with 2G of RAM.

I am looking at the following upgrade options:

Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 670
Running 2 HD's in RAID
Upgrading to a GeForce 8800GTX
Living with it for another year or so

Any ideas?

Hi wondered if anyone can help!

I've installed my netgear wireless router. My laptop already has a wireless card to enable connection and is finding it on the list of available connections but is asking for a network key. Anyone know what this is??

If I go to configure I can select 'enter key for me' but I press connect and the internet will still not display!

what if they arranged with some major websites that always get hits like google, etc. and the anti virus software makers to exclude their virus from the list of ones that are caught. couldnt they then use those popular sites to install the keylogger or surveillance virus onto your computer and you wouldnt ever know about it?

right now im running windows vista,on a AMD Turion64 Mobile Technology. i have DirectX 10 and my current card is a NVIDIA GeForce 6100.
