I'm probably completely screwed. I downloaded this program off the internet last night on my computer and as soon as I did it everything went off my computer and the only thing left was my background picture. I turned off my computer and turned it back on. I had about thirty seconds where everything went back to normal before it did the same thing and the background picture was the only thing left. I tried it again and again, and the same thing kept happening. Any suggestions?

Does anyone know of any PC hardware out there that allows you to get a high def signal into your PC via hdmi, dvi, or component? There are plenty of PC tuner cards out there that will take coax, s-video, and composite inputs, but I want something that I can get those hi def signals from a set top box. Any ideas?

I have a myspace(surprised?..lolz). I just really want to know what your thoughts are about myspace. In my opinion myspace is a great way for me to keep in touch with friends/classmates most of which i hardly see anymore, but people are just taking this whole myspace concept a little too far. Its crazy how i have people getting mad at me just because they're not in my "TOP 8". Well if i really get into anymore details into how far this goes, id be wasting your time.So let me sum this up: I like myspace and will keep it as long as it doesnt drive me crazy..Feel free to share any thoughts.(no rude remarks plz.)

Hey...whenever 'check disk' is performed it stops at 45 percent of stage 1 of 3. And say 'file segment 77880(something like that) is unreadable. And then nothing happens and I just restart the computer and skip disk check. So what's the problem? And how do I fix it. Please help. Thanks.

i live in a flat and my friend has a router for her laptop and i need to connect to it what do i need?. Do i need a network card, "if yes" then when i install it will it find the router automatically and then will it connect to internet?

I burned some of my .avi files into a DVD using iMovie and iDVD. When I play it in my DVD player the sound is good but the image stops frequently for fractions of a second throughot the whole movie...
Any ideas of what am I doing wrong?
I have a G5 dual 2.5 with 1.5 GB Ram and an external DVD burner. Software is iLife 08.

It's not top of the line, but it should do me fine for the moment, Do you think it will be able to handle Vista Ultimate ? It comes preloaded with Vista Basic ?

I'm not a huge PC gamer at the moment, do I don't really need top of the line....I'll be using this laptop for web browsing, music, school work and the occasional pc game although I'm not going to go nuts over every game out there ?

All in all what do you think ?

This will do me fine until I purchase a Mac Book Pro some time next year hopefully

I dont know how to get a picture on facebook. I go to the page that says "Upload Picture" and then it says.... JPG, GIF or PNG file ....WHAT IS THAT???? I have Kodak easyshare software and i cant get any of my pictures on...All i can do that might help is open my picture with internet explorer and get it on Word Document! Can anyone help???

When I push F1 or go to 'Help and Support' from the start menu I get this error:

"Windows Internet Explorer Internet explorer cannot download/from help. Internet explorer was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later".

Any help on how to restore the Help and Support option? I went to a Microsoft site (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/remoteassist/viaemail.mspx) to see if I could get help via email. The site says I can get help via email if I use my Help & Support item under "Start"...wait a minute...how am I supposed to get help via email when the Help & Support doesn't even work? This is a Vista Home Premium that came with my new laptop. Thanks.

My webpage appears properly in IE 7 but has a few differences in firefox two regarding images and margins. I know there are differences between the browsers but I don't know how to find them or what to change.

The images are absolute positioned with this code:

The other problem is that I am missing bottom margin space on two of my pages between form buttons and the cf include lower nav bar. Do I need to add padding?

What do you think and where can I go to learn how to adjust for things in firefox when they work in IE. I test mostly in IE as over 90% of my viewers use it (version 6 and 7).

I have configured my Yahoo mail on MS Outlook 2003. The problem is when my mails start to download on the outlook server, it stops in between - that’s midway through. After this when I click on Send / Receive, it starts to download from the first mail on my yahoo server thus making another copy of my mails.

Is there a solution to this?

I just bought a netgear wireless router. i set it up and it works fine.
then i went to internet connections and checked on status of packets sent. It was about 1.5k sent and 1.3k recieved. at night i put my comp on stand by. the next moreining my internet wasents workin. all the lights were fine but the packets sent was like 164 sent and 31 recieved. i had 2 restart everything to make it normall again. Do i have 2 do this everytime or wat

my other laptop brokedown and I have installed o2jam in it a few months ago. When we have it checked, they said that the problem is on the motherboard. He did not say what exactly is the problem on the board. I don't know if o2jam is the reason why it broke down. Does playing games like o2jam in a laptop a lot of times cause the board's breakdown? what do you think?

My laptop is Lenovo ThinkPad R60. It has 1GB RAM and 80GB hard disk. When I install Linux on it, It boots from Linux Bootable CD. The Linux can not detect the hard disk and gives an error message "no hard disk found where RedHat Linux could be installed. As soon I click OK there, the machine reboots.
