like if i downlaod something which contains a virus, will it tell me that this file contains a virus or will i have to scan it manually?

What does it take to make this program work??? I have some issues that make it difficult or not "quite there". Okay, I know this has been asked before, but what I have read hasn't helped me much. I tried putting in the IP into the browser and that didn't do anything other than ask me for the user name and password-it didn't allow me to make one.
Do I need to be on a computer with a "plug in" wireless card that we bought with the router?
I have been trying to do it on my laptop that has wireless built in.
I have been getting a message on my laptop saying "There is an IP address conflict with a device on this network", so I am assuming someone is using my wireless router.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, All, I have a mac computer just bought one week ago, I also installed Windows XP in MAc computer, now My Windows XP C:\ Drive have 60GB of space and Don't have partition, I want to partition the C:\ drive under windows XP in to two Partition one 20 GB and one 40GB, how can I do that?

I tried to install Power quest partition magic 8.0, but it can't open the program, the error message saids undefined partition, I guess is powerquest partition magic don't understand the hiden drive which to use installing Mac OS X system that is why it can't open the partition magic program.

So how can I partition my C drive under Mac? thanks.

Is there anyway to save my computer or is it dead? I tried a system restore, but it still will not load. It just comes up with a dos prompt saying "we apologize for the inconveneince but windows will not start, a recent update or blah blahblah might be to blame." and so on and so on.

I keep getting up to 20 emails a day going to bulk from the above which are known viruses on the net. I also get emails from unknown people saying there is a card attached from a family member or a friend. I never go into any of them I just delete them straight away. But I want to remove the virus from my system but not sure how. I cant find anything in system manager. I have Antivir and I send the virus to quarantine but I cant seem to do anything else to get rid? Any ideas other than take it to a computer specialist.

Hi!

I have an old PC. Spec: Windows ME, 1GHz AMD Processor with 512MB RAM.

My PC fails to load up now and i have fixed it on numerous occasions before (with different problems). Im considering purchasing a new PC but i dnt want to lose the data i have on my old hardrive.

Is there a way of copying the data from my old PC to my new PC without turning the old PC on (as it fails to go on at at!!)? Is there some cable or harware that i can use to do this?

I just bought a brand new computer with a DVD-rom drive and I usually get this message when booting up. Worse, the drive won't even open to place the disc in when you press eject (but is definitely in there, I opened up and looked inside.) Can anyone help me with this problem? I'm completely baffled.

Just like when you get a new Dell/HP/Acer/Sony computer... all the drivers/software are already installed before you create user accounts for the first time?

Do you log in using safe mode after the last restart after installation and install the drivers from there?

EVERYTHING that I attempt to run is giving me the "not a valid Win32 apllication" message. I have tried downloading Virus software from the internet, but I cannot run that either because guess what? I was wondering because i have a friend down the street who's going through some finacial troubles so i wanted to help em out be sending em my wifi connection to their house so that they don't have to pay money for an internet connection. problem is that their house is too far away for my linksys router to reach. so i was wondering...is it possible to beam it close to their have some other router intercept the signal and beam it farther at their house so they can use it? i just wanna help a friend in need.

Am getting the following message when trying to convert an avi file to copy video from pc to cd.

"Avisynth open failure" - Avidsource: couldn't locate a decompressor for fourcc div3. (c:\V2DTEMP\Avi2dvd_temp\Avisyth_Script_file.avs, line 2).

Have uninstalled the Avi2Dvd codex and reinstalled but still getting the same problem. Any ideas much appreciated.
