“Drive 1 not found: Serial ATA, SATA-1
Strike F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility.”

I just bought a brand new computer with a DVD-rom drive and I usually get this message when booting up. Worse, the drive won't even open to place the disc in when you press eject (but is definitely in there, I opened up and looked inside.) Can anyone help me with this problem? I'm completely baffled.

Its possible that the drive is bad. I bought a new one, and had to take it back, they gave me another brand one. Have ya called the place where you purchased it.

Call the place you bought it from. It sounds like something wasn't set up properly to begin with or there's something faulty. Since it's brand new, this won't be a problem.

As you just bought it CONTACT manufacturer / sales Co for help.- That's what the warranty is for.

Also it's looking for a HARD DRIVE to boot from, not a DVD.

ok this has happened to me too. you may want to reinstall the drive. honestly since it is a brand new computer, i would contact their tech support for help to be sure you are getting the right info.
