Just like when you get a new Dell/HP/Acer/Sony computer... all the drivers/software are already installed before you create user accounts for the first time?

Do you log in using safe mode after the last restart after installation and install the drivers from there?

Thanks.

You can't do so. As XP does not support such feature.

No a good rule of thumb after Installing an Operating System or any Software for that matter is after you have completed the download Restart your computer many require this before changes take affect.
Next I always check with any software I have Downloaded's Site for any updates or Upgrates to there Software I have Installed.
Normally if there are driver updates or upgrades they will be downloaded at that time.
Needless to say almost all will require you to set up user accounts; some do it when you register your software others do not. As far as Safe Mode This feature is normally used when you are having problems with conflict issues and your computer is acting up and doesn't want to mind.

Windows XP installed the windows standard drivers only, after installation you will need to install the specific drivers for your hardware depending on the laptop/PC you got. It is usually on the CDs provided with the computer or in your hard drive when you first got the PC.

When installing XP you will need to create an account to log in..

Hope this helps & good luck,

After installing XP, it will ask you to create a user account. Input one user first for a start. Then have your drivers, usually on a CD, and install everything. Make sure to restart when it says you have to restart to avoid conflicts.
