EVERYTHING that I attempt to run is giving me the "not a valid Win32 apllication" message. I have tried downloading Virus software from the internet, but I cannot run that either because guess what? (I get the" not a valid WIN32 apllication" message). Does anyone know a solution that will allow me to at least restore my computer to an ealier date?

Non of these solutions have worked. As I stated previously. I am unable to access the restore menu the normal way, and just about every other thing I try is getting the "not a valid Win 32 apllication" message. I can't get to any of my icons, my contorl pannel, download any files etc... Does anyone know how I can restore it to an earlier date any other way?

Try sfc /scannow.

Try booting up in SAFE mode and then if you have any System Restore points that were created before this started, try using one of them and restoring your computer to the way it was at that time. Another way is to boot from Cd, find the Last Known Good point, and set to that. If you are running Vista, I am not sure of what it may have. Also are you running a Raio 0 or any other Raid configuration?

Try this link for more information on this. Most likely, you have a worm or trojan doing this, for which you need to get antispyware. But first, read this and see if it will help you.

Then Get SpyBot Search & Destroy to safely remove spyware. Best of all, it’s free. After installing it, immunize the computer against over 31,000 known pieces of spyware. Then run a full bot check and remove everything it finds using the Fix Selected Problems tab. Keep it updated and run it weekly to keep your computer free of this stuff. Then get Ad-Aware also from download.com and run it the first time doing a Full System Scan. Thereafter, run a Smart Scan daily.

Keep them both updated and use them.

You can try Windows System Restore
(Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore)
Also, make sure your downloading the right programs, such as make sure it's for Windows XP and not Vista.

Most manufacturers include a full System Restore, which restores your computer back to the condition you got it in. Go to their website (such as www.dell.com), and they will tell you how to do it.

Once you do either of those, make sure to download anti-spyware software (such as Ad-Aware or Spybot: Search and Destroy).

Your condition sounds like a problem with the registry, not a virus. Once you restore your computer, use Crap Cleaner to clean your PC and repair your registry.
