Get the system with the XP operating system or wait until the 1st service pack (SP1) release from Microsoft for the Vista beast.

Wait. Windows XP can do everything more efficiently and faster than vista. For a home user, vista has no advantage. DirectX 10 is useless will be obsolete very soon. All you get with vista flash aero interface which for the amount of money you pay is a ripoff.

In most ways it isn't any better than XP. I am using Vista Ultimate right now. The user security is entirely unusable, you have to disable it all before you can use the machine for anything. I use this machine for experimenting, for that Vista is OK.
