It depends where abouts you go to in China.... Hong Kong will be fine but in mainland China items such as laptops have a "luxury tax" put on them so you will find it is more expensive then here in UK.
Also the operating system will be in Chinese which makes things complicated.
Then theres the warranty to consider.
On the whole I think NO would be the answer.

No get a regular plastic one, china is quite delicate and could easily smash.

What?...Oh that china.

No, buy it from somewhere close, that way it'll take less time to get it back if you ever send it to be serviced. Probably cost less as well.

hmmmmmmm................ most branded laptops are "assembled" in china.

Asus is made in Taiwan and it's really affordable and durable.
