i have sky broadband, it is wireless it has worked for ages but one day i turned it off nd the next day it wouldnt work on the computer but it would on the laptop, the no.1 light is supposed to flash orange then go solid green it stays solid orange. i really dont no what is wrong as i didnt touch anything help please xx

I get booted from my yahoo messenger, but only when I am using myspace IM and chat. Is this causing me to get booted, what can I do to fix it? Why does no one answer my question.

The highest setting on the computer is 1024x768, and I don't know how to get it to a widescreen setting. I've also updated/downloaded the right driver for the monitor, but I don't know how to make the resolution work. (I'm trying to get it not to look like the screen is all stretched to accomodate the wide screen.)

i have msn and i ccant figure out why i keep getting booted offline. there will be a message everytime i go on (atleast twice when i sign in) and it says "send error report and Dont send" i chose them both before and they kick me offline. what is the problem?

I wanna get a Intel core duo and a motherboard that supports the new intel quads and also the duo processors. Can someone give me links for both the processor and the motherboard? I dont want to spend a whole lot of money on a motherboard just something that is good for gaming and supports the 2 processors. I plan on spending around $200 for the processor but I am not to sure on the price of those.

If anyone could give me a link for the board and CPU that would be awesome and I would appreciate it!

When I get a email apparently from Ebay member, but without my name, about something I haven't traded on, and not in My Ebay.
I send it to spoof@ebay.co.uk if it is a spoof they tell me, otherwise they say it is genuine, so I have to send it to them as spam by copying and pasting.
I then get an automatic email telling me to forward the email to spoof@ebay.co.uk

Surely ebay should make it as easy as possible to report security risks?
It is hard work having to copy and paste an email and separate the text from the headers, and time consuming.
The last time I sent a spam under the same circumstances they replied it wasn't genuine.

My computer is going really slow. Everything seems to take twice as long as it used to. Even when I play music or the start-up sound comes on, it is choppy and slow. I have scanned for viruses and spyware. I have updated windows, and everything else I can think to update. I have checked everything I can think of, but I still can't make it work right. Any suggestions? The computer is only a year old, and it is a hp Pavilion dv8000. I don't have a warrenty.

Is it safe to burn at the suggested speed? I have a 16X DVD burner and I'm using 8x media. DVDfab has a recommended speed. Is it safe to use that or should I burn at 8X?

My kids have been playing on the computer now the picture is 90 degrees to the right (basically its on its side). I cann't find out what they have done or how to put it right.

My Mouse Keeps freezing. I would originally think it is because the Mouse is Dirty. But it wont register a click at all. It will work sometimes for 5 minutes, sometimes for and hour and sometimes if im lucky 2. It is very very annoying.

Please tell me what is wrong, and how to fix it.

I dont think it is a problem with the mouse, just the computer. Because when I use a mouse that uses the USB port. It works like a charm.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I hear that if a computer on a network gets infected by a virus, worm, etc., it could affect the entire system.

In my case it is two computers on the network, desktop by way of wired in, and laptop wireless. Am I right that if these two computers do not interact with each other, the above problem would not be the case.

Am I right that the interaction between the wirless laptop, is only with the router, and not the desktop

Hi people,

How do I use the onmouseover function to do these two things at a time - change image on the same spot and show the style cursor hand? I know how to do only one of them but when I try to add the second function, it didn't work. Hope there is an expert out there who can help. Thanks a lot!

My goal is to have a backup of all of my data (including Quicken, Outlook & Word files) on my computer in case it crashes. I also want to have a backup for all of my digital photos (I have at least a 5GB of pictures and very short clips of video). I've gone through the experience of the Blue Screen of Death in the past year did NOT have much backup - I don't want to go through that again! I need something simple and easy to set up - your suggestions are most welcome!!

ok so when i go on the internet with my laptop it say that internet explorer cannot show you the page so i click on diagnose and repair under the connection then it says that it has a problem with my DNS. It started to not connect me when the power went off in my house and then i turned on the router ans the DNS problem started so what do i do?

ok, I have a Dell Optiplex GX-260, with a CD-RW/DVD drive, which I have played DVD's on in the past, with no problem. I have Cyberlink PowerDVD 6. when I put a DVD in the drive, it won't recognise it as a DVD. and it says in PowerDVD that there is no DVD in Drive E. (thats my DVD drive) So what's wrong with it?

I have a SBC Siemens Speedstream 4100 DSL Modem and a linksys befsx41 router and need to configure it to connect to SBC Yahoo. The DSL modem it setup to do PPOE so what do I select in the linksys setup software for internet connection type. Do I select PPOE there also or do I select Obtain an IP automatically (DHCP). Should only one part of the connection handle the PPOE ? Should the modem handle the PPOE or the router ? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The mouse track pad of my laptop is not at all working. Is it possible to replace the mouse track pad without effecting the rest of the laptop? If this replacement of the mouse trackpad effect any parts of the laptop, please list them (For example keyboard,.. etc..). Approximate cost for this replacement in Indian Rupees.
