Something in one IM program is conflicting with the other.
When you say 'booted' you mean you are logged out of one of your IM programs, or the program crashes?
If you get logged out it could be you're using YM on 2 different computers. If it crashes, try just using YM.
Make sure you have the latest version of YM. Click on your Help and check for any updates.
Lastly, you might want to run a complete virus, spyware and malware scan on your computer. Trend Micro has a very good online scanner. Free to use. You can also still use your PC while it scans.

I suspect that both chat protocols are using the same IP port, therefore they both can't exist at the same time. See if there is a way to configure yahoo chat to use a different port. I know you can do it with AOL AIM, I'm not familiar with yahoo messenger.

It's possible that you need to update your version of messenger. It's also possible that your computer isn't compatable with messenger. If it was running fine before, then try system restore. You can do this by going to your control panel, and you should see it there. This should take you to a time before the problem.

You could have a virus sitting in the script of Myspace.
Remove myspace, scan your computer, and re-install MySpace.

Something is wrong with windows, the browser, etc
First go to MS Windows Update and get the latest patches, next see if you are using Java and other programs, for example AOL is awful.
Finally de-install and re-install programs----
Need more info from you

It is very likely that the two IM clients are conflicting with each other. Start one, disables the other.
