Nope. Just wait for the next generation hardware to come out and the current stuff will drop drastically in price. I waited for AMD to release its socket AM2 line and a month later got a high end socket 939 dual core for less than half of what it was before the new hardware release.

If you are buying parts individually, an Intel Quad Core Q6600 is less than $300, and if you are buying a prebuilt system you can get one with a quad core for under $1200. If those numbers aren't compatible with your wallet, you really should be saving up more money, becasue those numbers are far from outrageous when you are talking about a brand new system.

Well they are much cheaper than what the 64bit systems were when they firs came out mine was £1500. And that was just for building the tower alone.
