i need a laptop, i really dont know what kind i should get. all i really do is get online and i-m and need to do a little school work and listen to music on. so i really just need a "basic" laptop but i dont want to spend more money then i really have to. are there and decent laptops with out spending more then 500$ is that even possible? if so what kind is it and where could i get it at. any help would be awesome

I have bought an apple macbook and was wondering how do you make the screen swivel when you tap the side of the macbook as i have seen it on a video review. When i tap mine it does not swivel, so what do i need to do??

Yesterday I asked this same question and was given a run-around. For shame, CCleaner DID NOT remove the problematic program from my Registry and yes I have the responsibility of being concerned about it.
It came from a downloaded MCI shared Files Disk and is operating in MS-DOS and has planted the following hardware onto my pc: (1) Uni-modem Audio Controller operating through the Robotics 56K modem WIN 1806, (2) Multimedia Video Controller, and (3) Multimedia Controller. these devices control where a user can go and monitor all of his/her activities on the Internet including ones' email accounts and lists.

Ok, so I have the mac iBook, but I am starting law school and really need the new one with intel.

I was thinking about getting the macbook pro, but is it really worth the $1000 more than the regular macbook?

Also, the IT guy at school said I should wait until the OS comes out (he thinks October) does anyone know anything about it? I couldn't find anything on apple's web site. Will it be the "new" macbook or will they still have those and this be totally different? Thanks!

Anybody who has installed it or already knows:

Does it require a DVD-reading drive to be installed? I'm not sure because my work computer won't read it, and it says "ACD 2008 DVD LIC UPG" on the package, so that's what I got out of it...

I have a 7900GS AGP video card installed on my computer right now. It calls for a minimum of 400W and a current rating a 20V. Well I have a 500W system (thats ok) with a current rating of only 12V. So far it has ran wonderfully. Do you think it will continue?

my computer is connected to the network in the company where I work, it had viruses because pc switches off by itself. I tried to install and run aunti viruses when its on normal mode, but pc kept in switching off by itself, not allowing me to continue the scan, so i relised it can be because of the virus.
so I tried to restart the pc in safe mood, I changed the system configration utility option to start in safe mood, and then restarted it, after that kit showed me a screen with login in safe mood, but it does not let me log in when i try to put user name and password, I dont see the domain anymore, and its not allowing me to log in!! now i am stuck. I tried the F8 again to go back to normal mode, its not displaying that. it showed an options to select either reboot from Hard disk, CD, network, I tried them all but still no luck, help me pls. I am still at work trying to fix it :( plssss help.. thanks..

DDR2 and SDRAM are different right? Maybe Compaq made a mistake or it is saying my motherboard can take both types.
