Anybody who has installed it or already knows:

Does it require a DVD-reading drive to be installed? I'm not sure because my work computer won't read it, and it says "ACD 2008 DVD LIC UPG" on the package, so that's what I got out of it...

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you bought the AutoCad 2008 Upgrade version on DVD. You'll need a DVD drive to read the software. This may not require the DVD reader drive to be on the system where installing it, but you will need a DVD drive to read it and store the content on a network share. If the disk contains some sort of copy protection (more common with video games than commercial applications) you'll need a reader on the system where you are performing the upgrade.

It requires a DVD, but there should have been a card in your box that will allow you to send away for the software (for free) on normal CD's. Just take a careful look at the literature that came with it.

yes you do need a dvd drive to read this but there is a way to get around that

you can download the free trial from Autodesk and then after it is downloaded you can enter your instalation key or registration number (should be in/on your box), whatever it is called for autocad (i dont remember) and it will end your 30 day free trial and allow you to use it forever
