If you are using AVG (free or paid) and LogMeIn, then there is really not a virus problem. It would appear to be a false positive from AVG. Two separate LogMeIn users have contacted AVG and posted the following AVG responses in the LogMeIn forums.
===============
Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately, it is a false detection in this case.
This false detection will be fixed within today's
Priority update of AVG program. Please accept our
apologies for any inconveniences this may have caused you.

Please feel free to contact us again if we can be of
further assistance.

Best regards,

Thank you for your email.

The suspicion file has been analyzed by our virus laboratory.
We can inform you that the detected file is a false alarm.
This means that the file is clean and virus-free, but AVG
detects it as a virus.

The correction will be released with today's update.
Unfortunately, false alarms do appear from time to time
in every Anti-Virus software.

Thank you for your kind cooperation and understanding.

obfustat.evn came up as a virus after I installed LogMeIn.
LogMeIn is an internet based service that allows you to work from any remote computer to a designated computer.

Ex. I can access my work computer (I believe it has to be left running and online) from home or if on vacation another system elsewhere.

My guess is it is a file that most likely poses no threat but is necessary for the program to operate. You actually take control of the work station from the reomote computer.

I am most certainly positive it is from the LogMeIn installation as I run AVG antivirus daily and the first time I ran it after the intall is when it was detected.

I'm not sure if it is malicious spyware or adware but the folks at MajorGeeks.com may hold the clue.

That's all I can offer at this time. If you have not installed this program recently then I do not know how it accessed your system.

Not found on www.processlibrary.com either.

The only reference to it is found here, dated Today:
http://fantastic-search.blogspot.com/

Unfortunately, this is all it says:
About obfuscated.evn & obfustat.evn: It is a new kind of Trojan.Win32. virus

Currently there is no description available for this virus program.
As many viruses and worms are modifications of earlier versions, it may help you to check the descriptions of similar programs.

There is also a reference to it ina foreign site called "Virus Doctor". Update your VirusScanner later today and you will most likely get the cleaner.

My virus software, after updating definitions, tells me it's part of my "Log Me In" software, which behaves as a virus but is harmless in the right hands. Do you use this software?

Entering those letters gives no search response, and Symantec has nothing resembling this on their threat website. It isn't even shown as spyware. Be sure you can the letters correct and try again. Enter them into Google and if there is such a thing, Google will find it.

does that mean that the logmein software is being picked up as a virus, or is the software comprimised? we use logmein on our domain controllers at our location, and I am concerned for integrity and security of data and our AD structure

obfustat comes up as a trojan. The ".evn" doesn't show up anywhere, though.
