I would recommend 64bit if you can.
I have 64bit vista premium, and it detected and installed successfully all basic hardware drivers from the install cd (video, sound, motherboard etc) without any issues.
If you have some really old devices you might have some problems but most modern stuff works fine. For example I have some old palm pda's that I still use, and the the usb sync cradles do not have vista drivers that work for both 32 bit and 64 bit vista. I was able to get around it by using serial cables, which don't need a driver.

So as you can see from the above, if you have really old stuff that you still like to use, vista can be a pain, but there are sometimes workarounds.

Either way, 64bit is the future and it's a shame not to use it when you have a 64bit chip.

Vista 64 bt or xp 64 bit . These operating systems both offer more stability and speed as an operating system The trouble lies in the available soft ware and driver s that you want them to run as 64 bt. They will run 32 bit programs in a form of compatablity mode but not many soft ware companies offer 64 bt soft ware and the 64 bit system has been out for four years. I got XP 64 bt on one of my computers for free for switching from 32bt xp pro from microsoft as a promotion. They must have figured the loss of hardware and driver issues was a fair trade. Vista like xp will take time to smooth out the issues that advancing operating systems are prone to encounter from tecnologies and soft ware that was built for previous systems. So you have to choose which one you want based on what you want your operating system to do and the price your willing to pay and not in just dollars either

u can get 64 bit edition but it lacks driver support for some hardware, and is only for developers. get 32 bit its the same thing but it has more support for hardware. i dnt know y ppl think they need 64 bit windows if they have a 64 bit processor.

either will work

your cpu is 64bit, so using it will make your computer go a bit faster

however, do know that driver compatibility issues are still plaguing vista, not to mention that some antivirus will not work with 64bit os, so get ready to fight and work with the system for hours to get it going properly
